Council

Executive Team

The Executive Team, made up of the Church President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary, works with the Pastor to develop and maintain leadership in the congregation, act as liaison between the congregation and the Northwest Synod of Wisconsin as well as the ELCA and the community at large.

Run all formal Council and Congregational Meetings
Manage the Nominating Committee
Manage the Endowment Committee
Manage the Pastor Parish Relations Committee
Provide motivation and leadership to the ministry teams
Create and manage all formal correspondence between the congregation and outside entities
Work with the Church Council to establish the process for calling a Pastor or other paid staff

Church Council

The Council is made up of the Executive Committee and the heads of the Ministry Teams. They meet monthly and are responsible for the general oversight of the life and activities of this congregation, and in particular its worship life, to the end that everything be done in accordance with the Word of God and the faith and practice of the ELCA.

Women’s Thursday Bible Study

Join this small group of women the second Thursday of the month at 10am. This year's theme, from Gather, is "To Follow and To Serve" and is based on the Gosple of Mark.

The goal of this Bible study is to explore topics that can be challenging in our lives and look at what it is that unites us and defines us as people of faith. We would love to welcome you to this wonderful study and time of encouragement and fellowship.

WELCA

Is a ministry open to all women at Christ Lutheran Church. They integrate a variety of activities and events for fun, fellowship, study, and service including:

Thursday morning bible study
Supporting Grace Place homeless shelter by furnishing one of its room and providing a supper to the residents once each month
Special events throughout the year including, Christmas Luncheon, August Conference Retreat
Quilting (Monday mornings, check the calendar for dates)
The Annual Election Day Ham Dinner

Men in Aprons (MIA)

Around since 2002, this group of guys knows how to have fun while serving. They tie on red aprons and help with Sunday fellowship, cook for breakfasts and other special events throughout the year. Proceeds from these events then benefit many ministries at CLC. Contact Men in Aprons if you would like to join.

Tender Hearts on Call

Over the past year we have been blessed with a ministry team that has been going out and visiting those in our congregation who are often unable to join us to worship regularly, but whose hearts remain connected to Christ Lutheran Church. Meant to supplement Pastor Kathy’s visits, these angels are sent out in teams of two to visit homes and nursing homes, to visit, share news from church, and in some cases bring Holy Communion.

If you or someone you know would like a visit, please contact Pastor Kathy or Cheryl in the church office. If you know of someone in the hospital, please let Pastor know.

Additions to the Tender Hearts ministry: Beginning this fall, this group will add several new aspects to the ministry.

♥ We will be making phone calls or sending notes to Christ Lutheran families … just to see how you are doing. We will also be calling visitors and letting them know we appreciated their visit and answer any questions they might have about CLC.

♥ We will be praying for families each week - individually, in small groups and in worship on Wednesdays and Sundays. Please check the newsletter to see when your family is being prayed for - if you have specific needs you would like to have lifted up please contact Cheryl at the church office 715.247.3341. Then, join us on Wednesday at ‘the river’ (6:30pm) or Sunday (9:00am) and be filled as you are lifted up to God in prayer.
